Re: yehuda Aryeh Steinmetz

R' Hersh Ber Klein (who lived a very long life and was very close with the Munkatcher Rebbes) was a son of the Shenos Chaim. R' Hersh Ber's brother, R' Binyamin Eliezer was my gg-grandfather. Basically, your husband is my father's third cousin (or my 3rd cousin, once removed). AFAIK, your husband's father (is he still alive?) lived on 11 Rechov Meah Shearim in the 1970s and he reprinted the sefer Mateh Reuven (are there any copies left? I always wanted to get one).
I see that you have an account on Geni.com what more information are you asking for that isn't already there?

oh okay. thanks for the explanation. I am attaching a picture of the Sneine ruv who was killed in the holocaust. So we are not directly in your family, but a side line. My husband's father, shaya klein, was son of moshe ezriel klein, who was the brother of the sneine rav. both moshe ezriel and the sneine ruv were sons of tzvi dov klein (hersh ber klein) who was the rosh kahal of munkatch (my husband is named after him). Do you mind filling me in on the rest? somehow two more generations back I think we meet up with your great great grandfather. thanks!

Okay, I am a bit confused. Why is the subject of this email "Yehuda Aryeh Steinmetz"? And why do you think that we are related? There are a lot of families named KLEIN. I don't recognize off-hand the names Heshie and Shaya KLEIN in my family tree. Does your husband or father-in-law know if they are descendants of Rav Reuven Chaim KLEIN (the author of Shenos Chaim on Rabbeinu Yerucham)? If yes, then we are related. If not, then it's pretty unlikely.
