Dear Rabbi Klein,

I spoke to Mrs Steiner. She is 95 but her mind B"H works perfectly.

She was unable to help me and that Steiner Janos left no heirs. Maybe I will someday become lucky and stumble on such records.

Mrs Steiner has 5 sons but she is bedridden.

Thank you again Rabbi Klein for getting me this contact.

Shabbat Shalom.

This is a relative that I have contact information for (from 2011, I can't verify if she is still alive or not).

To Mr. Mezei,

I am copying this email to other people who are involved with the town of Bonyhad. I looked at Mr. Blau's book and in his martyr list, he lists seven people with the last name Mezei: Reicl, Nachum, Ester, Jacob Yishai, Sara, Miriam, Nathan and Herman. If anyone else has more information, please share.

My name is Jacob Mezei.
My father, Yonessan Benjamin (Jozsef) Mezei's wife Reicel and their 4 children, (3 boys and 1 girl) were deported to the camps from Bonyhad.
Their Hungarian civil names and birthdates from the Bonyhad authorities;
Jeno May 19, 1939
Alfred  Aug 30, 1940
Erno May 07, 1942
Agnes Jun 12, 44
I need their Hebrew names to be able to write into a personal memorial tombstone.
These exist somewhere because 2 Bonyhad memorial books list Hebrew names of Reicel Mezei (definitely my father's wife), plus Hebrew names of 3 Mezei boys and 3 girls. I do not know which four of the six, are their children – if any.
Mezei, Reicel  (Father's wife – maiden name Ulmann) plus 6 Mezeis, Nachum, Ester, Jacob-Yishai, Sara, Miriam, Nathan.

According to the US Holocaust Museum Mr Blau, author has it from Mr. Janos Eisner, author of 2nd book, who is no longer alive. I was unable to contact the publisher of his book and I was unable to find relatives of Mr Eisner, who might be able to connect me to the source from where Mr Eisner got these names. (Mr Eisner's book "A Bonyhadi Zsido Tortenette" in Hungarian seems, that it was mimeograph printed by MIGDAL of Herzlia)

If you can be so kind, I need your help with finding the sources of these Hebrew names?  Or to get the names of relatives of Mr. Eisner, or the publishers address or phone numbers whom I can contact. Or, maybe you can suggest other ways how to find this info.  Thanking you.

Re: Kezmarok

Hi, I am indeed in Israel at this time. I did live in LA (for the first 19 years of my life) and my parents still live there.
Here is that I have from the Lowy family in Kezmarok: My gggg-grandfather, Lipman Lowy is my ancestor in two ways: His had a son named Yisroel Elimelech (after whom I named my second son), who had a daughter named Rechel. He also had a son named Pinchas Eliyahu, who had a son named Shlomo. Shlomo and Rechel Lowy married each other and had a daughter named Bracha (after whom my mother is named). I don't really have any more information than this, but I would like to you to please speak to my mother in LA, she knows more than I do about the topic. Her cell phone number is (818) 216-9481, I will also CC her on this email.

Hi,

I hope this is your e-mail (Ruven Chaim Klein).  I live in Los Angeles, where I see you also lived at some point.

I have done extensive research in Kezmarok, including creating a KehilaLinks page for that town for JewishGen.  I saw that you were looking for some information about the "Lowy" family in Kezmarok.  Did you find what you were looking for or perhaps I have information.

Are you in Israel at this time?

Kol tuv,
